Virgin And Child - Ivory - Goa 17th Century

Subject : Madonna and Child - polygonal pedestal delimited by rows decorated with stylized acanthus leaves in the oriental style. The sculpture consists of a set of two parts (the statuette and the base).

Medium : Carved ivory - beautiful brown patina with golden reflections.

Origin : Indo-Portuguese Art - Goa 17th century.

Condition : Missing right forearm of the virgin and absence of the left foot of the infant Jesus and part of the right arm.

Dimensions: H_17,2 cm

Provenance: Belgian private collection.
