Subject : Statue of a Bodhisattva, sitting in padmasana. Hands in bhūmisparśa-mudrā (gesture of taking to witness the earth) and holding a bowl in the left hand.
Medium : Gilt bronze.
Origin : China, End of the Southern Song Period (1127-1279) or Yuan Period (1279-1368).
Condition : Very good state of conservation.
Dimensions : 29 cm X 18 cm. Depth_16.2 cm.
Parallels : We found a similar Bodhisattva in the book published during the exhibition "China: the peak of the Song" organized by the Museum of Picardy in Amiens and presented from December 16, 2000 to March 18, 2001. The Bodhisattva is in front-cover and is located in Zhejiang Provincial Museum (Hangzhou).
